This past summer, I had the privilege of interning with Meyer-Greeson-Paullin-Benson in Charlotte, NC. While working at the firm, I visited several in-progress renovations and got to meet and speak to clients regarding their experience. I also met with and visited several vendors, including Ashley of the Bakerloo Collection, the local Bellaire Dynamik studio, and the new Schumacher showroom. The experience was more than I could have asked for and I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to work with MGPB.

SAMPLE ROOM

My main project during the summer was to redo the sample room. It had not been looked through or decluttered in over 20 years and needed a massive overhaul. I worked with Keith Chostner and Sammy Greeson to get rid of discontinued product and come up with affordable solutions that would increase the functionality of the space.

BEFORE PHOTOS

To start, Keith and I added track lights to the ceiling and curtain rods to the cubbies shown. We also implemented a hanging system for the fabrics that would also allow for better categorization. For the wallpaper, I split it into two sections. The grasscloth was divided up by color and pattern in magazine holders. However, the majority of the wallpaper would not fit in the organizers. Using pegboard hooks, I was able to attach curtain rods to the pegboard. To hang the wallpaper, I used drapery clips.
